Posted in: My River Comments # Robert Millar Thursday, October 07, 2010 12:57 PM My Great Grandfather homesteaded by The River in the 1st concession of Elizabeth Twp east of Brockville (now Honda motors and LaFarge quarry) My Grandfather built up the farm by The River, then later moved to the city to build houses around Byng Ave. My Father grew up on the farm by The River, rowing up and down its currents to fish and hunt ducks/geese. i was born in town, by The River, and have been a 'summer resident' all my life, coming and going like the massive flocks of geese migrating overhead each spring and fall.
